What is a VFFS Machine?
A VFFS machine (vertical fill form and seal) is a packaging system that fills products into a bag, forms the bag and then seals it.
VFFS machines use large rolls of film that are unwound and pass through a bag former. As this happens, they are formed into a bag, filled with product, and sealed.
What kind of products are packed?
VFFS machines can pack all manner of products ranging from crisps and nuts to salads and coffee.
The rise in sharing and snack bags has seen VFFS packing used extensively in the chocolate and confectionary industry.
What are the advantages of VFFS packing?
Output – The speed and accuracy of VFFS machines mean the potential production output can be vastly increased, with machines capable of sealing anything from 30 to 180 bags per minute.
Cost – VFFS machines are fully automated and can be set up and used with minimal training. As a result, they reduce the need for costly and potentially dangerous manual packing methods.
Food Safety – Vertical fill, form and seal machines are typically made from stainless steel and are easy to maintain and clean.
